I've been going to little beast for years. It's probably my favorite hidden gem restaurant in LA. It's perfect for a date, a casual drink, or a nice celebratory dinner. I love it. The menu has evolved in beautiful ways over the years, some of my favorites have been retired but they always have innovative delicious replacements. If you go the mixology is great, and so are the wines; you must try the chicken liver moose, and don't be afraid to ask for more bread. Great now i have to find an excuse to go to little beast... Excuse me.
Big fans of this local gem! Cute house turned into a restaurant - quaint inside and outside patio. Our server was so friendly and had great energy! Aside from the adorable restaurant and good vibes, THE FOOD. THE FOOD was delicious. We ordered the Brussels sprouts (yum), olives, and little gem salad to start. And the shrimp and grits and beef stroganoff for main course. It was sooo delicious and the portions were generous. We WILL BE BACK soon.
okay, you have to pay for the warm bread but it was worth every penny! came here for dinner and everything was good. flat iron steak was perfectly cooked beef stroganoff was okay, the beef was good but something in the sauce was a lil saltier than i prefer our waitress was friendly and attentive. the outdoor dining area was cute, could have been romantic but our kids were there
I visit Little Beast at least once a year. This time our server was Ms. RUTH, and she did an amazing job. I ordered Grilled Morrocan chicken perfect juicy. I would come here again.
Little Beast is a one-of-a-kind gem located right on Colorado Blvd. What was once a craftsman-style home has become one of the best restaurants in Eagle Rock. They have done such a great job with the aesthetics that you almost feel like you've gone over to someone's house for dinner. You can dine in their converted dining room or relax outside in their enclosed patio. We chose to sit outside, and it was a wonderful experience. The ambience is inviting and warm. The menu offers an excellent variety of different styles of food to choose from. My husband and I selected the "Iron Steak" and the mushroom ragout polenta, with the chicken liver mousse to start. The chicken liver mousse was exceptional and possibly the best I've ever had. It is topped with a port and sherry "jelly", which adds a perfect sweetness and is served with warm, house-made bread. To start, we had a mezcal and Aperol drink, which was refreshing, and the mix of tartness from the Aperol complemented the smokiness of the mezcal perfectly. Our server, Ruth, made great suggestions that we followed, enhancing our evening.
We went as soon as they opened at 5, were seated outside (they have a door that can be used to access the patio so we could have a stroller with us). The bread and garlic-chili butter were delicious. The grilled Kansas City flat iron steak was so flavorful. I finished everything on my plate.
We had a wonderful dinner here thanks to our amazing server Ruth! My friend and I came with a reservation on a Saturday night and were seated on the heated patio area right away. We decided to order a spread of sides and apps to share rather than entrees and Ruth happily obliged. She told us she would put in everything we ordered at once and course it out for us since our table was small. Highlights were: - house bread and spread (the chili- garlic butter was crazy good and completely unexpected) - lemony, Tuscan white bean dip (light, tart, and amazing. I don't live in the area and am now desperately trying to figure out how to make this because it was so good) - green goddess kale salad (lightly dressed, broccoli perfectly charred and tender, super refreshing crunch with the apple) - crispy Brussels sprouts (perfectly caramelized, I could eat these forever) - side of fries (the Calabrian chili ranch was insane) - apple brioche bread pudding ala mode (if we weren't so full we would've ordered another) Ruth made sure to check in on us and assured us we could take our time. We'll absolutely be coming back on our next trip to the LA area!
My hubby and I came here on a sat night for an early Valentine's Day celebration. It had been on my list for awhile and it did not disappoint! It looks small from the outside but spacious, cozy, and bustling on the inside. We got the following: ARTISAN CHEESE BOARD - olives, nuts, membrillo, pickles, chefs selection of cheeses, fruit, house bread . love the variety! Especially the spreads. Perfect portion for a big group. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER BISQUE parsley, toasted hazelnuts. This was cozy, creamy, and flavorful! PORCINI MUSHROOM RAGOUT & POLENTA portabello, beech, crimini mushrooms, ricotta polenta. Definitely get this! It's a must try. So creamy and delicious! If you love that umami-goodness from mushrooms get it. GRILLED ALBACORE sicilian tomato-saffron broth, eggplant, white beans, salted capers, preserved lemon chimichurri. It sounded really good on paper but I found this one pretty salty. Fish was cooked well. It was ok. BELGIAN CHOCOLATE PUDDING chantilly cream, maldon salt. It was yummy but it's not any different from other places that offered this. It was good but it didn't wow us. Service was great. Ray C. our waiter checked in on us quite a bit. Parking was tricky but my hubby managed to find a parking spot in a residential area.
Very delayed review for a quaint dinner at on the porch at Little Beast. Located right on the corner. Street parking. Drinks were good! We ordered the Elderflower gimlet and GLS Gruner. What we ordered (may not longer be on the menu FYI): Iceberg Wedge - very yummy salad app! Iceberg was crunchy, the bacon was really crispy. I was a big fan! Cacio e pepe was very tasty but no pepe (pepper), which seemed to be substituted with chives instead? Steak frites - steak amount was quite small to a couple pieces where it almost looked like it was a side to the fries instead of the main. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The fries were too soft and I was looking for more of that crunch. Salmon Mousse - good starter, chunky crispy bread slices to pair with Watermelon Salad - refreshing, not super interesting Meal overall had some hits and passes for next time, but I still think it could be worth checking out.
